Separating Pay and PerformanceMay 11th, 2010Can you separate base salary increases from performance management and still maintain a “pay for performance” environment? What I mean is to have the performance management process operate without it automatically leading to a discussion about a merit increase to base pay, yet still maintain a pay for performance environment. I believe the answer is yes, and it could be a very effective means to running a high performance and growth oriented business.
